FOR THE INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM “PLEVEN”
I. Announcer – Pleven Municipality
II. Principal – Pleven Municipality represented by Georg Spartanski – Mayor
III. Regulations of the Symposium:
1. Sculptors from our country and abroad who accept the conditions of the Statute, adopted by the Resolution No. 486 of 24.02.2017 of the Municipal Council of Pleven, may participate in the Symposium.
2. Five sculptors, of which at least two should be from abroad, shall be allowed to participate in the Symposium.
3. The application documents shall be submitted as a paper (hard) copy to the Centre for Administrative Service to Citizens at address: 5800 Pleven, 4 Vazrazhdane Square or electronically at E-mail: kultura@pleven.bg.
4. Application documents:
- a participation form (according to a model);
- a project of the work in drawings or photos;
- an explanatory note to the project of up to 1 page - A4 format;
- a creative biography (CV);
- a number of up to 5 photos of completed projects;
5. A Jury of 5 experts appointed by the order of the Mayor of Pleven Municipality shall perform the selection of the applicants. The Jury shall consist of: 3 sculptors from the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA) and the National Academy of Arts, the President of the UBA Representation - Pleven and a representative of Pleven Municipality.
IV. Obligations of Pleven Municipality:
1. To conclude a contract with the participants;
2. To provide an Accident Civil Insurance to the participants;
3. To provide the material for the sculptures (marble – 2,5 cubic meters) and to equip the working site technically – electric power supply, compressor, crane, perforator, disks, tents, running water.
4. To cover all expenses of the participants:
- Travelling expenses to Pleven and return;
- Board and lodging (hotel and food) for the period of stay in Pleven;
- Payment of a fee to the authors – 4 000 (four thousand) levs.
V. Obligations of the participants:
1. To implement the sculptural work in time according to the approved project;
2. To have a Life Insurance at their own expense;
3. To have their own tools and protective equipment;
4. To sign a declaration of compliance with the technical safety while working.
VI. Time and venue:
- From 1.09. tо 30.09.2017 – making of the sculptures;
- From 1.10. tо 05.10.2017 – mounting of the sculptures in presence of the authors;
- Venue – a working site in the yard of Municipal Enterprise “Parkstroy” in the beginning of Kaylaka Park.
VII. Deadline for submission of the documents and admission to the Jury:
- for documents – from 28 March tо 30 April 2017
- admission to the Jury – until 15 May 2017
- announcing the participants – until 20 May 2017
